Greenwood Pediatrics Selects Eclipsys PeakPractice to Improve Quality
of Care and Enhance Information Exchange |
|
02/10/2009
Atlanta — Feb. 10, 2009 ―
Eclipsys Corporation ®
(NASDAQ: ECLP), The Outcomes Company®
today announced that Greenwood Pediatrics, a
10-physician group practice in the Denver-metro area, has selected
Eclipsys PeakPractice™, an integrated
electronic medical record
(EMR) and
practice management
(PM)
solution to improve the quality of patient care
and exchange of information by way of a customized system for its
pediatric specialty. The group practice, which operates three
locations, will phase in the single database EMR and PM solution by
spring 2009.
“After thoroughly evaluating several vendors,
including the EMR that was offered as a solution through Stark law
by our community hospital, we chose Eclipsys PeakPractice because it
offered a comprehensive, well-integrated solution to support our
specialty in pediatrics,” said Chip Southern, M.B.A., M.H.A.,
C.M.P.E., Greenwood Pediatrics’ practice administrator. “We were
very impressed by the seamless integration of its
EMR
and
PM
solution, and Eclipsys’ commitment to
continually enhance its product. But what really sold our physicians
was the .NET
platform that allows us to exchange information
within our multiple-location practice and the intuitive
interface that makes it easy for our 70 plus
staff members to use.”
According to Tom Cooke, vice president and general
manager of Eclipsys’ Practice Solutions group, “Eclipsys is honored
that Greenwood Pediatrics has chosen to adopt
PeakPractice
EMR and PM because of its strength in the pediatric specialty. Our
dedication to developing specialty-specific software not only helps
practices operate more efficiently, it allows providers to
cost-effectively deliver the highest quality of care.”
Eclipsys’ practice solutions product, PeakPractice
is an integrated, award-winning, .NET-based ambulatory EMR/Practice
Management solution that includes
e‐prescribing,
patient portals, patient kiosk, image management
and Web portal. It is one aspect of Eclipsys’
enterprise
solution offerings to connect community-based
practices with
acute‐care
hospital and healthcare systems. Eclipsys’ PeakPractice Version 1093
is a pre-market, conditionally CCHIT
Certified 08 Ambulatory EHR with additional Child Health
certification, pending advanced ePrescribing and operational use
verification.
