Atlanta — Feb. 12, 2009 ―
Eclipsys
Corporation® (NASDAQ:ECLP),
The Outcomes Company®
today announced that
Genesis Physicians Group,
a Dallas-based independent practice association (IPA), signed
an agreement endorsing Eclipsys’
PeakPractice™
solution as an electronic medical record (EMR) system
of choice for more than 1,450 physician
members. Under the deal, IPA physicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth
metropolitan area that purchase Eclipsys
EMR
software will receive a substantial discount in order
to spur physician adoption of enabling
technologies that support enhanced patient care and
administrative efficiency.
“We selected Eclipsys PeakPractice because its
capabilities were superior and easier to use than other EMR products
we evaluated,” said Ron Lutz, president and CEO at Genesis
Physicians Group. “We constantly strive to help members improve
quality of care and operational efficiency, but many practices can’t
afford EMR
systems. We believe this agreement will
accelerate adoption of technology that is critical to streamlining
information flow within physician offices by making EMRs more
accessible and affordable.”
According to Tom Cooke, vice president and general
manager of Eclipsys’ Practice Solutions group, “We are very pleased
to support Genesis Physicians Group and its members to realize their
clinical innovation and business goals. PeakPractice’s unique Supply
Chain module allows Genesis Physicians Group new opportunities for
cost savings and inventory management. This agreement is a win-win
for Genesis, physicians, patients and Eclipsys.”
Eclipsys’ PeakPractice is an integrated,
award-winning, .NET-based ambulatory
EMR/Practice
Management solution that includes
e‐prescribing,
patient portals, patient kiosk, image management and Web portal for
physicians and patients as well as supply chain and inventory
management. It is one aspect of Eclipsys’ enterprise solution
offerings to connect community-based practices with acute-care
hospital and healthcare systems. Eclipsys’ PeakPractice Version 1093
is a pre-market, conditionally CCHIT Certified®
08 Ambulatory EHR with additional Child Health certification,
pending advanced ePrescribing and operational use
verification.
