Electronic prescribing has made major
leaps forward! Providers can now see whether or not medication
choices are in a patient’s formulary BEFORE completing the
prescription. The provider can see at-a-glance the preferred
medication according to the insurance company, along with other
possible substitutions. A simplified prescription process,
medication suggestions based on topics, pending medications, and
prior medications are all part of the improved eRx.
